The Patroller-2 is a highly versatile and maneuverable vehicle having a very low center of gravity able to cross obstacles 9" high, climb curbs, cross medians, drive on sidewalks if needed, maneuver between traffic and able to turn within a single traffic lane. The Patroller-2 provides for a continuous 8 hours of operation without the need to refuel its 8.5 gallon fuel tank while providing the operator with a fully enclosed heated and air-conditioned cab, enabling the operator to perform their job in rain or shine and hot or cold weather conditions. The Patroller-2 is the vehicle for school crossings, around school campuses, shopping centers, resorts, parking patrol, special events, traffic congestion and more.

Chris is the founder of Cycle & Carriage and since 2004 has been leading the effort, previously under Automotive Engineering Co. (aka AEC International, in the design and development of the Patroller-2. While designing, producing and testing seven chassis designs, integrating three varying power packs and building three different body designs, Chris funded the development entirely while working international military and police security program.
Chris is responsible for establishing the goals and strategies of Cycle & Carriage and maintains budgets and resource allocations, has oversight of the workforce, and ensures that resources are available to meet the needs of the company, ultimately meeting the needs of the customer and the company shareholders.
Chris, a graduate from Lenior Rhyne University in Hickory North Carolina with a degree international business, has twenty-seven years of sales, marketing, management and manufacturing experience having owned several businesses and having served corporations in management and senior leadership positions. Chris’s background has focused on both law enforcement and military tactical and security vehicles and other security equipment.

JOB SUMMARY: Reports to the Director of Engineering & Compliance and is responsible for leading the engineering and design process of On-Road and Off-Road vehicle platforms and systems from concept to production in order to achieve the product objectives within a specified time.
Engineering and Design Background: ATV, Utility vehicle, Motorcycle and or Motor Scooter, Agricultural & Farm Implement Equipment.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Required-B.S.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering,
- 3-6 years minimum related design experience in an O.E. Environment (title commensurate with experience).
- Required-experience with Solidworks modeling package or Pro-Engineer.
- Experience with the following vehicle design categories a plus: Steering and Electronic Power Steering Systems, Chassis design, Welded structures, Bolted joints and fasteners, Packaging, Sheet metal and aluminum, Suspension systems, Braking systems and wheels, Electrical, Plastics component specification.
- Experience in vehicle weight reduction.
- FEA experience and application of FEA
- Working knowledge of FMVSS NHTSA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good strategic vision and business knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to lead major process change in a way that enhances overall corporate performance.
- High level of people skills, able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work with domestic and international suppliers/partners.
